Hi! I’m Teresa, a Portuguese translator living between Porto and Brussels and if you’re a Language Service Provider, I’ll be happy to be a part of your team of freelance translators.
I like to think I’m pretty fun to work with but my clients also describe me* as:
Translation companies make up a large chunk of my client base.
Each LSP has their own processes, tools and work methods and I’m always happy to adjust to them. Whether it’s working with different client portals, assignment and delivery methods, linguistic and technical instructions, invoicing methods or quality management tools, I’ll always adapt to you.
I’ve got to know plenty of other trusted professionals during over a decade working in the translation industry.
I have a strong network of editors and translators and often collaborate with them, which saves time and takes some of the load off project managers.
Having worked as a project manager myself, I understand how important it is to get a speedy reply to a job enquiry and not be left hanging. I do everything I can to respond to all enquires as quickly as I can, especially if I can’t accept them.
I’m currently based in Brussels and I tend to work from 9am to 5.30pm CET on weekdays. However, if you’re elsewhere in the world you normally can reach me by phone or email at a time that works for us both. I typically produce 2000-5000 words a day depending on the subject, tool and language pair.
Even though I currently work mainly with SDL Trados Studio and memoQ, I do occasionally use other tools such as Memsource, Translation Workspace and Across, as well as customer-specific tools. If you work with a different tool I’ll be more than happy to take the time to get to grips with it. I love mixing things up and switching between different types of task and subjects areas.
